"Seva-Paani"...forced acknowledgement!

Sometimes I wonder whats the problem in the mindset of Indian society? As a child we are always told that the Indian culture has always  taught that being content with what you have is the key to peace and solace. But the attitude of common people sometimes make me wonder is it really so?? Recently I was travelling through Rajdhani train which is supposed to be among the best trains of India. The travelling package in rajdhani includes fares for journey as well as the fare for meals all time. I have notice that earlier also, when the journey comes to the end the waiters go to each n every person in the bogi and ask  "saab sevapani de do?" I personally feel very irritated about such kind of behaviour. It is not that giving few bucks more is irking but the way a conversation followed irked me very much. The waiter as usual came and asked for seva pani even these guys were waking up people who were in sleep just to ask this extra money, when one passenger said that for what it was your duty only, these guys started arguing "Kyu saab aapko khush nai rakha kya humne??? khushi se de do saab itna kharcha karke jaa rahe ho to thoda aur de do" What kind of nonsense is this?? and it just doesnt end here there is a long argument given by these people. I dnt undrstand what do they mean by "Khush nai rakha kya", they are serving only what which we have already paid for then from where the hell this extra blackmailing comes from, and if you refuse to give they will be swearing on the passengers!! Also, the guy who just came at the starting of the journey to give you a bedding also expects you to give him seva-paani. I think the govt should add a tip amount also now on the ticket like irctc charges because that way at-least the passenger would definitely know before hand that he/she has been taken care of!! Plus it will save the arguments when if you give a 10 rupee note the waiters give "10 rupay me kya hoga sahab".This shows that its not only that they want extra money, they want it to be a handsome one too, just beacaue you have brought an expensive(in comparison to other train fares) train ticket. These waiters in this way collect thousands of bucks in every trip, isnt it also a way of corruption, you are already getting paid for the duty you do and above that you are literally charging every passenger you served which was indeed part of your duty.Disgusting attitude!!
